News & EventsInvestor-Conference “Accelerating the European district heating (DH) rollout – Unlocking the potential of financial markets"Date: 14 May 2024 Time: 14h00-17h30 Organizers: REWARDHeat REWARDHeat Serious Game: a free crash course offerIn February 2024, REWARDHeat will organise a crash course for external teachers on how they can autonomously use REWARDHeat Serious Game in their educational programs. REWARDHeat represented at SDEWES 2023At the SDEWES Conference in Dubrovnik in September 2023 the REWARDHeat organised a special session "Planning and modelling of next generation district heating and cooling systems" and participated with two article presentations outlining key features to accelerate the uptake of innovative district heating and cooling in the EU. The role of heat pumps in the green transition: EU Projects perspectivesSDEWES 2023 Conference
Dubrovnik 2023 - Special Session: Researchers are invited to contribute to the planning and modelling of next generation district heating and cooling systems, which can integrate renewable energy, couple power and heating sectors, and utilise urban waste heat sources. Serious GameA Serious Game about the heating sector and its transformation in a fictional town has been developed. Players take over one of the roles (district heating company, district manager, government) and follow their goals to win. The game was successfully played several times with HAWK and international students in August 2022. HAWK can offer free game workshops to universities, research institutions and companies, as well as to any other interested organisations. REWARDHeat Conference: DECARBONISE HEAT15 – 17 June 2022 Helsingborg, Sweden Hotel Marina Plaza, Helsingborg The REWARDHeat project is organising a 3-day event in Helsingborg, Sweden. The project seeks to turn low-temperature DHC networks into a new asset class. Modern district energy solutions can contribute to the achievement of EU climate targets. Position Paper on Key Texts of the European Commission's Fit for 55 Package. The European Commission’s proposals will have a big impact on DHC, and the wider H&C sector. REWARDHeat is well placed to provide important knowledge and can give input to the ongoing policy discussion and the revision of the chosen directives REWARDHeat/Celsius Policy WorkshopDelivering Environmental Objectives Through Sustainable Heating and Cooling: A New Generation of District Heating and Cooling Networks 17 March 2022, TownHall Europe, Brussels Workshop: DHC Networks in European Innovation Projects - Sustainable Places 2021 The objective of this 120-minute virtual workshop is to share experiences from district heating and cooling (DHC) demosites involved in European innovation projects (WEDISTRICT, REWARDHEAT, RELaTED, and MATCHUP). Green heat recovery:Reinforcing Europe’s industrial and energy transition leadershipThe Heat Pump Forum 2021 puts heat pumps at the centre of Europe's green, digital, cost-effective energy transition and industrial transformation. The aim is to discuss what is needed for the EU to decarbonise "heating and cooling" effectively and fully DHC Investor WorkshopThe REWARDHeat DHC Investor workshop took place on 24th June from 10:30-12:00 CET. The event focused on potential investors in the field of district heating and cooling to inform about the potential of the project’s innovations and to explore ways to leverage private financing into the sector. Waste heat solutions for Europe’s green recoveryThere is enough waste heat available in Europe to meet the demands of the entire building stock. Following the energy efficiency first principle, it is essential that this surplus energy is put to good use. Greening our cities with district energy! On September 15th, from 9:00 to 12:15 CET, the HeatNet final conference took place. Technology Demonstrator
Heat Pump technology demonstrators: Find out more about the innovative uses of Heat Pumps and the way the ideas and systems are tested and demonstrated beforehand in pilot sites all over Europe. REWARDHeat predesign toolOne of the main REWARDHeat objectives is the development of an open-source and free-available tool capable of providing predesign information of low- and neutral-temperature district heating systems. Sustainable Places 2020REWARDHeat project, participated in a workshop, within Sustainable Places 2020 conference,on the integration of renewable heating and cooling technologies in DHC solutions for sustainable living. REWARDHeat 2. Project MeetingThe second REWARDHeat project meeting took place in October Installation of shunt in AlbertslundA shunt has been installed in the Albertslund demonstrator network, allowing the operator to lower/optimise the temperature in the housing area “behind” the shunt. Webinar - Integral in District HeatingOn July 30th, 2020 EHPA hosted the webinar “Heat Pumps - Integral in District Heating”, in which four innovative projects promoting heat pumps in different district heating applications across Europe have been presented.
REWARDHeat 1. Project MeetingDue to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis in Europe, the first project meeting was held online on April 23-24. All project partners actively participated in a lively discussion over the course of the 2-day-event. Webinar 5th Generation DHCRenewable and waste heat resources are readily available in urban environments. A new generation of highly efficient district heating and cooling networks is needed to harvest these resources and use them to meet local energy demand. Kick off event in BolzanoThe RewardHeat project officially kicked off on October 8th, 2019 at the first consortium meeting in Bolzano, Italy. Funded by INEA in the framework of the Horizon 2020 programme, REWARDHeat is coordinated by the Italian research institute EURAC. |
