The role of heat pumps in the green transition: EU ProjectsWhen: 27th April 2023 The event will be held within the framework of the Sustainable Energy Days – EUSEW 2023 Location: Online, Teams The heat pump sector is continuously growing, helping in climate action, cutting heating and cooling emissions and creating jobs. However, there is still a lack of clear information about the implementation. In particular, the relation between heat pumps and district heating and cooling allows sector integration and the use of renewable energy sources, and waste heat recovery. The webinar “The role of heat pump in the green transition: EU Projects perspectives” aims to gather stakeholders and share knowledge about these thematic through three inspiring selected EU-funded projects. This event is organised in the framework of the REWARDHeat project. The project focuses on demonstrating a new generation of low-temperature district heating and cooling networks, able to recover renewable and waste heat at low temperatures. We will also hear from two other two EU projects - ReUseHeat and SecRHC 2022-2025 -, which will present their perspective and approach in R&I about heat pump application. ReUseHeat project showcases replicable models enabling the recovery and reuse of excess heat available at the urban level, with the aim to increase the energy efficiency of district heating and cooling systems in cities across Europe. Meanwhile, the European Technology Platform on Renewable Heating and Cooling (RHC-Platform) brings together stakeholders from the biomass, geothermal, solar thermal and heat pump sectors to define a common strategy for increasing the use of renewable energy technologies for heating and cooling. Join us at this event to know more about the projects’ key results, inspiring innovative technologies, and lessons learnt. This event will take place online (Teams) on Thursday, 27th of April from 10:00 to 12:00. |
